Frequently asked questions
What goes on a hotel housekeeping checklist?
The tasks for each clean, room by room: bedroom, bathroom, restocking and a final check, then an inspection after the clean.
What’s the difference between a departure and a stayover clean?
A departure clean gets the room ready for a new guest, with fresh linen and a full clean. A stayover clean is a lighter clean while the guest is still staying.
Who should inspect rooms?
Usually a housekeeping supervisor or the duty manager. Inspect every room before a new guest arrives, and check a sample of stayovers.
Run housekeeping on your team’s phones
Each housekeeper gets their rooms and ticks the checklist with photos. Supervisors pass a room or send it back with a note.
